Bitters encourage bile production which is essential for digestion. To ward off digestion upset, try taking bitters 20 minutes before a meal. Bitters are also great to have on hand if you over imbibe in yummy food and your digestion feels sluggish (gas, bloating, discomfort). Take a dropper or two directly into your mouth and hold it there until your mouth starts to water - this lets you know the bitter taste has activated your digestive system.
This blend is also really yummy added to most bourbon or dark rum drinks, try it on the rocks with ice or added to a Moscow Mule or a Dark + Stormy.
Skipping alcohol? I like a mocktail with half spicy ginger beer (non alcoholic), half seltzer, a lime wedge and a few droppers of this bitter. Yum!
